Thanks for stopping by!
I’m Laura Greaves, an award-winning freelance editor, author and journalist based in Sydney, Australia. I’ve been writing for and editing publications in Australia and around the world for close to 20 years, and have worked for leading consumer publishers including News Limited, Bauer Media, Pacific Magazines and The Conde Nast Publications.
I’m also the author of two romantic comedy novels, Be My Baby and The Ex-Factor, both published by the world’s largest publisher, Penguin Random House. My first non-fiction book, Incredible Dog Journeys, was published by PRH in 2016. (Its follow-up, Dogs with Jobs, is coming in November 2017. Watch this space!) I’ve co-authored four anthologies of romantic comedy short stories, too: Autumn Leaves, Winter Heat, Spring Fling and Summer Daze.
I’ve had short plays produced, have worked in television and in 2011 was a finalist for the Australian Writers’ Guild’s Monte Miller Award for best unproduced screenplay. I have a Graduate Diploma in Screenwriting from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS). There’s not much I don’t know about story structure and character development!
In addition to being an experienced writer and meticulous editor, I’m a voracious reader of all genres of fiction and non-fiction. I simply love great storytelling, and am passionate about working with authors to polish and improve their work.
Please drop me a line to discuss how we can work together!
